A Simple Offering - Poster

Taken in 1917, this image is proof that fighting in a war does not necessitate losing our humanity.
Millions of civilians were starving from famine in World War 1 but the soldier pictured is defying a direct command from his superiors by sharing his food rations with a civilian. Offering charity in times of need is a true testament of what we are capable of.
When we are convinced that we will not lose our self, or if we act with compassion to someone who is different, we are more likely to be generous.
